Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced OEM Designer with a strong background in manufacturing and fabrication environments, specifically focused on pressure vessel and piping design. This individual will play a key role in developing detailed models and drawings for engineered equipment, ensuring designs are accurate, buildable, and aligned with fabrication requirements.

The ideal candidate has hands-on experience using Autodesk Inventor and understands how designs translate from engineering to the shop floor, particularly in environments involving vessels, piping systems, and fabricated equipment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop detailed 3D models and 2D drawings using Autodesk Inventor for pressure vessels, piping systems, and related equipment

  • Design and layout pressure vessels, piping assemblies, and structural components for fabrication

  • Translate engineering specifications into fabrication-ready drawings

  • Collaborate with engineering and shop teams to ensure designs are accurate, efficient, and buildable

  • Support creation of bill of materials (BOMs) and fabrication documentation

  • Review and revise drawings based on project changes and field/shop feedback

  • Ensure designs align with applicable codes, standards, and project requirements

  • Participate in design reviews and coordination with cross-functional teams

Qualifications

  • 3–5+ years of design experience in manufacturing/fabrication environments

  • Direct experience with pressure vessel design and/or piping systems (5+ years preferred for vessel-focused candidates)

  • MUST have strong proficiency in Autodesk Inventor

  • Hands-on experience developing drawings that go directly to fabrication

  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, P&IDs, and specifications

  • Strong understanding of fabrication processes and material applications

Preferred Experience

  • Experience working with ASME pressure vessel design (Section VIII or similar)

  • Background supporting OEMs or equipment manufacturers

  • Exposure to skid-mounted systems or packaged equipment

  • Experience collaborating directly with fabrication shops or production teams
