Position Overview
We are seeking a skilled Designer with a strong background in manufacturing and fabrication environments, specifically supporting compression systems. This individual will play a key role in developing detailed drawings and models used in the design and fabrication of compression packages.
The ideal candidate has hands-on experience working with Cadworx and understands how designs translate from engineering to the shop floor. Experience across multiple areas of compression systems; including piping, skids, structures, and P&IDs is highly valued.
Key Responsibilities
Develop detailed 3D models and 2D drawings using Cadworx for compression packages and related systems
Produce and maintain P&IDs, piping layouts, skid designs, and structural drawings
Interpret engineering specifications and translate them into fabrication-ready drawings
Collaborate closely with engineering and fabrication teams to ensure designs are accurate, buildable, and efficient
Support updates and revisions to drawings based on project changes or field feedback
Assist in developing bill of materials (BOMs) and supporting documentation
Ensure drawings align with applicable standards and project requirements
Participate in design reviews and coordination with cross-functional teams
Qualifications
3+ years of experience in design/drafting within fabrication or manufacturing environments
Hands-on experience with Cadworx (required)
Strong understanding of compression systems and equipment packaging
Experience with one or more of the following:Piping design
P&IDs
Skid layout/design
Structural components
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, P&IDs, and specifications
Familiarity with fabrication processes and how drawings translate to the shop floor
Preferred Experience
Experience with Smart P&IDs (intelligent piping diagrams linked to models)
Exposure to reciprocating gas compression systems
Familiarity with industry standards related to piping, pressure vessels, and fabrication
Experience working directly with shop personnel or field teams
