Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Checker with a strong background in manufacturing and fabrication environments, specifically supporting compression systems. This individual will be responsible for reviewing and validating design deliverables to ensure accuracy, completeness, and alignment with project specifications and fabrication requirements.
The ideal candidate has a deep understanding of how drawings translate to the shop floor and can identify discrepancies across models, P&IDs, piping layouts, and fabrication drawings before release.
Key Responsibilities
Review and check 3D models and 2D drawings created in Cadworx for accuracy and completeness
Validate P&IDs, piping layouts, skid designs, and structural drawings against project specifications
Ensure consistency between P&IDs, models, and fabrication drawings
Identify and resolve discrepancies related to dimensions, materials, routing, and constructability
Verify bill of materials (BOMs) align with design intent and fabrication scope
Confirm compliance with applicable standards, codes, and internal design practices
Work closely with designers and engineers to resolve issues and improve drawing quality
Support drawing release processes and maintain revision control
Qualifications
5+ years of experience in design/checking within fabrication or manufacturing environments
Strong experience with Cadworx (required)
Deep understanding of compression systems and equipment packaging
Proven experience checking one or more of the following:Piping design and layouts
P&IDs
Skid assemblies
Structural components
Ability to interpret and cross-reference P&IDs, 3D models, and fabrication drawings
Strong attention to detail with a focus on constructability and accuracy
Preferred Experience
Experience with Smart P&IDs (intelligent piping diagrams linked to models)
Exposure to reciprocating gas compression systems
Familiarity with ASME standards and fabrication codes
Experience working directly with fabrication shops or field teams
